At Temple Simpson Studio, we place design excellence above all. We believe that quality design requires attention to detail, emanates thoughtfulness, is rigorous and appropriate to its use, and celebrates craft. This philosophy informs everything we do, resulting in structures that exist harmoniously with their environments rather than dominate over them. Created by merging the art of architecture with the science of building, our work expresses a sense of simplicity that can only be the product of this integration, not one of style or omission. We hold interdisciplinary teamwork and collaboration between talented designers, engineers, consultants, and craftspeople high above individual expression or divine inspiration. In other words, our process is more akin to the creation of a symphony than a sculpture. We tend to limit the amount of work we take on to ensure that our projects are realized in this way.
Temple Simpson Studio is a New York City-based multidisciplinary architecture and design firm founded by Temple Simpson in 2014. Simpson has an A.B. in Chemistry from Harvard College, a Masters in Architecture from Harvard Design School, and was recipient of the Moshe Safdie Research Fellowship with the M.I.T. Media Lab. When not working, he enjoys exploring menus with loved ones, painting, and playing elitist racquet sports poorly.
